October kicks off with some crazy relationship energy.
Venus retrograde in Scorpio on October 3rd is asking you to get real about what you truly desire. Notice the tensions in your relationships and give them a voice.
Gently is the keyword here.
Because Mars in Leo is opposing Pluto at the same time, and that can make you want to bulldoze your way through an issue.
Don’t do that. You could fuck up everything you’ve been working toward.
This is a month for sharing power rather than wielding power over someone else. Say what you need to say. Listen. Be vulnerable. And maybe don’t try to win.
Sharing is caring, people.
This energy also tracks beautifully with the Chinese zodiac sign of the month, the Dog.
The Dog is loyal, but when loyalty gets mixed with anxiety, it can become needy, jump to conclusions, and see problems that aren’t actually there.
Sound familiar?
The Dog also wants the simple things: food, water, a walk, play, cuddles, and sleep.
Honestly, that’s not bad advice for relationships this month either. Before you decide your relationship is doomed, maybe have a snack and go for a walk.
The Dog is in its home element, Yang Earth, making October a great time to get grounded. Just watch the stubbornness. If you find yourself digging your heels in, go do something fun.
Playfulness can break up rigidity faster than trying to think your way out of it. And since October is one of my favorite months because of the absolute whimsy of Halloween, I’m fully on board.
Eat the candy. Wear the costume. Scare the children.
Enjoy it!
New Moon in Libra | October 10
The New Moon in Libra connects positively with Jupiter, bringing opportunities around abundance, relationships, and finances.
Get clear about what you want to create and who you want beside you.
This is a great time to start something involving partnership or money. Just watch the impatience. Venus and Mars may have you wanting to move before you’ve figured out where you’re going.
In other words, don’t confuse “I’m ready” with “I’m tired of waiting.”
They are not the same thing.
Pluto Goes Direct | October 16
Pluto moves direct after retracing its steps through the early degrees of Aquarius.
In plain English, this is about looking inward at how you’re changing, especially around personal freedom, power, and the life you’re creating for yourself.
On a bigger level, expect continued movement and tension around power and transformation in the world.
Because apparently we haven’t had enough of that.
Something is moving forward.
Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio | October 24
Oh, good. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio.
This can make conversations complicated. You may desperately want to say something while having absolutely no idea how to say it.
So if you have the microphone, have a plan.
If you need to have a difficult conversation, write it out first. Read it again. Maybe remove the part you wrote in ALL CAPS.
And if you’ve been keeping a hurtful secret?
Well, Scorpio does love to dig around in the basement.
This could be the time it comes to light.
Tell the truth.
It usually requires less bookkeeping.
Full Moon in Taurus | October 26
The Full Moon in Taurus brings an opportunity to release stubbornness and get honest about what you actually want in your life.
And yes, I realize I just used Taurus and release stubbornness in the same sentence.
Do your best.
This Full Moon connects with Pluto, which can bring deeper emotional material to the surface, including childhood experiences and unfinished business with our parents.
You don’t have to fix everything.
Sit with it.
What am I still holding onto?
What am I ready to release?
What old story about myself no longer belongs in the life I’m creating?
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do under a Full Moon is decide what you don’t want to carry forward.
And then actually put it down.
Want to know what all of this means for YOU?
Here’s the thing about astrology: we don’t all experience the same sky in the same way.
These transits are happening for everyone, but your birth chart shows me where they’re landing in your life.
For one person, October may be about a relationship. For someone else, it’s money, work, family, or finally dealing with something they’ve managed to avoid with impressive skill.
That’s where a personal reading gets interesting.
We can look at where these transits are landing in your chart, what they’re activating, and what they may be asking of you.
If you’re navigating a relationship shift, making a big decision, starting something new, feeling stuck, or simply wondering what the hell is going on right now, let’s look at your chart.
I can’t promise the planets will behave.
But I can help you understand what they’re doing.
